Jeannie Truth Time- Took me way over an hour to pick my favorite track for Insights & Turnpikes, that is how you know you love something though, when all the parts are your favorite. Love how all the songs go together but each one possess that unique special feeling as well. There is a pop, folk, bluesy feel to the songs in my ears. It's like Lightning that travels from your ears to your heart but it doesn't sting, it tickles and makes you smile. On repeat forever. Favorite track: In My Blood.

Track Name: Final Swim
Have you ever bled rock 'n roll while the sharks circled 'round below?
Have you felt their teeth ink your skin, wondering why you decided to swim?

Seemed like a good deal at the time,
feet in the sand no clouds in sight.
Hands did the shaking, but eyes did lie.
Didn't know how high that tide would climb.

Now it's coming down to the end.
Take a breath for that final swim.
Have you ever signed your life away to give life to the music you make?

Seemed like a good deal at the time,
feet in the sand no clouds in sight.
Hands did the shaking, but eyes did lie.
Didn't know how high that tide would climb.

(whistle break)

Seemed like a good deal at the time,
feet in the sand no clouds in sight.
Hands did the shaking, but eyes did lie.
Didn't know how high that price would climb.
Track Name: Miles of Memories
Keep the beat with my heart and get ready,
jumping in is the cure for being split into parts.
I barrel into the next 20 seconds downhill like a rock.

Seconds turn into years,
then a year's gone in a day.
Will the miles of memories fade away?

I get lost in the rolls of old movies,
flip the frames in my head, they’re flickering in the dark.
I’m afraid of the next 20 seconds
that’s what i forgot.

How long can I stay
and keep myself awake
i don't have too much time,
so I'm going to hold tight,

and seconds turn into years,
then a year's gone in a day.
Will the miles of memories fade away?
Track Name: Insights and Turnpikes
Night in the van with my friends,
sleep with my head in my hands.
Street lights and car brights leave paint on my eyes,
it's a long ride.

Every mile binds us tighter and tighter
every mile takes us further from home.

We've got emergency exits,
They make our faces glow red.
Insights and turnpikes collide in my mind,
it's a long ride.

Every mile binds us tighter and tighter
every mile takes us further from home.

We drive right through the sunrise,
celebrate every state line.
Point out the rest-stops and quick-marts we like,
it's a long ride.

Every mile binds us tighter and tighter
every mile brings us closer to home.
Track Name: Can't Get Enough Sunlight
Always wanted to come here, but once i touched down it didn’t feel like i thought.
Tangled under a blanket, I feel like the wild that’s been chased down and caught
I’m living in the great old USA where there’s always a cost an invisible line.
Should i just turn away from the world that i know to the world outside?

Maybe all that I need is to have some fun in the sunlight,
I can't get enough, can't get enough sunlight.
Maybe all that I need is to have some lunch with someone nice,
I can't get enough, can't get enough sunlight.

Now i don’t want to spend my life feeling the same when I’m awake and asleep.
Hope time here hasn’t changed me much: turned me into someone no one can bear to keep.
I’m living in the great old USA, where there’s always a cost, an invisible line.
Should i just turn away from the world that i know to the world outside?
Track Name: In My Blood
Walking through the trees I see faces in the leaves
of the prior generations that make up my family.
I can feel a love, furrowed eyebrows from above.
Wonder if I hear there answers, if their voice is loud enough.

They're in my blood and in my bones
My life is made of star and stones
I didn't get this far on my own
They're in my blood and in my bones.

Underneath the stars she is munching candy bars
leaving crumbs and sticky traces on the leaves of grandmothers.
Shouting about love to the rustling above.
Wonder if they hear her questions if her voice is loud enough.

They're in my blood and in my bones
My life is made of star and stones
I didn't get this far on my own
They're in my blood and in my bones, and yours.
Track Name: What Am I (Looking For)
Started on this journey but i didn’t know how far i’d go.
Every step i traveled made me feel like there was undertow.
I kind of want to say it, but it doesn’t even matter
because ever time i think i’m there i find another ladder.
Tell me that you want me to be understood, but who knows...

What am i looking for?

Climbing up too high or far will surely bring me down again,
so how can i keep moving when i know what’s waiting at the end?
I kind of want to say it, but it doesn’t even matter
because every time i think i’m there i find another ladder.
Tell me that you want me to be understood, but who knows...

What am i looking for?
Track Name: Not Going to Stop You
Loving you hasn't always been simple
all the things I feel I can't explain.
My heart won't like the choices I'll be making,
but if you were in my place you'd do the same.

So go on your way, I'm not going to stop you, my love.
Won't ask you to stay, I'm not going to stop you, my love.

You would buy the ocean if it saved me:
hold me through a flood or ice or flames.
You'd hang up the stars to see me happy.
So now's the chance to show I feel the same.

So go on your way, I'm not going to stop you, my love.
Won't ask you to stay, I'm not going to stop you, my love.

They say if it's yours you don't have to keep it held so tight.
So I'm going to learn to let go and watch while you take flight.
Track Name: Waiting for You
All around there's open air stretching miles and miles ahead,
but when I look down I see only you.
Can you feel my hands beside your head, do you know that I'm still here
in this beyond-ness: from beyond the sunrise,

I'll be waiting for you.

Calling out you say my name, though you think that I can't hear,
but when I look down, my eyes follow you.
When you close your eyes to get some rest, do you know that I'm still here in this beyond-ness: from beyond the sunrise,

I'll be waiting for you.
Track Name: A Place to Rest
Would you play me a classic song and leave me in peace
Would you play me a classic song and let me be
Can I lay my head on your shoulder - I need a place to rest.
Can I lay my head on your shoulder - I need a place to rest.
