It seems to me there's often a pressure accompanying special holiday times and the process of make sure they are SPECIAL!!!!!! The truth is, holidays can include so many different things - loved ones joyfully reuniting, decorations, plenty of food and warmth, great presents, winter sports, being full and happy...and they can also include things like feeling left out, stressful travel, obligations, homelessness, no job, having to be at a job, missing people, arguments, etc.
So, this year, (a few days ago, actually), I had this idea come into my head for a Christmas tune that explicitly celebrates the complexity of it all. And I LOVE CHRISTMAS TUNES!! So, it felt like a win win.
I've set the song to be FREEeeeeee and also allow you to pay if you'd like, knowing that all of the money I get here, I will donate to Feeding America (you can check them out on Charity Navigator - they have a really high score and so many locations across America). Also, feel free to send a direct message through Bandcamp if there is another non-profit charity you'd like me to consider? Yesh.
Extra update (Christmas card style!?):
Over the last two years, I've been writing and recording a LOT of music! However as there are so many wonderful sounds being shared every day to listen to, I didn't see a place for the sounds I was making that wouldn't feel like somehow adding to an overload of choices. I heard on a podcast once that humans get overwhelmed and sad with too many choices, so I wonder how to add constructively?!?!?! When the idea for this holiday tune floated into my head, I felt like it was time to put something out. So, here we are! I'll keep plugging away and when the time feels right, there will be SO MUCH MUSIC coming out from me here. WOOP!
Hope this season for you, and all those you know, is bright. And just a teensy bit, pleasantly complicated (just to keep things fresh, yeah?)

each song meshes together yet is different from the others as well. Bampa is my favorite because in an odd way reminds me of my home where I live. Listened last night to Ou Oui on repeat and woke up feeling spiritual, light and hopeful. Love all 3 and will def be playing it all year round, chores or not ;)
